Margaret A. Jentsch - 1910-2002 - Beardstown
Margaret A. Jentsch, 92, of Beardstown and formerly of Springfield and Chicago,
died early Sunday morning, Dec. 22, 2002, at Culbertson
Memorial Hospital in
Rushville.
She was born Aug. 16, 1910, in Beardstown, the
daughter of John W. and Ida Mae Buck Williams. She married Robert A. Jentsch on
May 13,
1939, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1970. She is
survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including A.C. (wife, Becky) Jones of
Beardstown. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Floyd Williams, Clifford
Williams, Ernest Anderson and Clarence in infancy; and three sisters, Rhoda
Williams in infancy, Ethel McQuead and Robel Jones.
Mrs.
Jentsch was previously employed with Bell Telephone Company in Chicago for many
years.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday Dec.
24, 2002, at the Beardstown City Cemetery, with John Ruppel officiating. The
family will meet with friends from noon until 12:45 p.m Tuesday at the Sager
Funeral Home in Beardstown.

Loretta "Reddy" Johnson - 1934-2003 - Chandlerville
Loretta "Reddy" Johnson, 68, of Chandlerville, died early Thursday morning, Jan.
30, 2003 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 22, 1934, in
Ashland, the daughter of William and Velda Beaty Thompson. She married Harold W.
Johnson March 30, 1957, in Springfield, and he survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Daniel (wife, Debbie) Stevens of
Chandlerville and Harold "Rhet" Johnson and John Kirk (wife, Jessica) Johnson,
both of Bath; three daughters, Dorthea Stevens of Lewistown, Autumn (husband,
Dean) Johnson, Lynn of Kendallville, Ind., and Barbara (husband, Dennis) Nall of
Chandlerville; 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bryant
Thompson of Girard and Curt Thompson of Chandlerville; and two sisters, Ella
Buhl of Virden and Deloris Oller of Mason City. She was preceded in death by two
brothers, Freeman Thompson and William Thompson, Jr.
Mrs.
Johnson was an Avon representative for 10 years and a homemaker. She was a
member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Chandlerville and Old Lincoln
Highway in Chandlerville.
Funeral services will be held 2
p.m. today at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Chandlerville, with burial in Mount
Olive Cemetery in Chandlerville. Memorials are suggested to the Mount Olive
Baptist Church in Chandlerville.

Richard M. Johnson April 19, 1907 - November 9, 2002
Richard M. Johnson, 95, of Chandlerville, died Saturday morning, November 9,
2002 at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
He was born
April 19, 1907 in Chandlerville, the son of Arthur Lee Sr. and Nancy Harbison
Johnson. He married Althea Gebhards in December of 1945 and she preceded him in
death on September 18, 1996.
He is survived by one sister,
Mabel Abbott of Virginia; one nephew, William Beck of Morton; and three
great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur
Lee Johnson, Jr. and a niece.
Mr. Johnson was a life long
farmer in the Cass County area and a member of the Chandlerville Christian
Church.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, November 12 at the Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home in Chandlerville with
burial in Chandlerville Cemetery.

"SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. R.
JOKISCH
Passes Away Monday At Barnes Hospital
Largely
attended funeral services for Mrs. Josephine S. Jokisch were held Wednesday
afternoon at the Presbyterian church in this city with Rev. T.C. Burton
officiating. Organ music was furnished by Mrs. Otto L. Dour. Burial was in
Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Edwin and
Clifford Sudbrink, Charles Caldwell, Gene Brockhouse, Elmer Jurgens, Eugene
Clemons, Luren and John Jokisch.
Miss Betty Nan Anderson
and Miss Louise Ruppel assisted with the flowers.
Mrs.
Jokisch submitted to surgery on Thursday of last week at Barnes hospital in St.
Louis and her condition was reported to be satisfactory. On Sunday morning, she
became worse, and passed away Monday at 4:30 a.m.
Mrs.
Jokisch was the daughter of William and Janet Taylor Sudbrink, and spent here
[her] entire life in the community.
She is survived by her
husband, Roy Jokisch, two daughters, Mrs. Walter Adkins and Mrs. Russell
Davidsmeier, both of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Otto Wernsing of Decatur and
Miss Mary Sudbrink of this city.
She was a member of the
local Presbyterian church and was active in its various departments,
particularly the choir and the Missionary
society. Her passing will be felt
keenly by the entire church, as well as the community."

Nellie C. Jolly - 1906-2003 - Beardstown
Nellie C. Jolly, 96, of Beardstown, died Tuesday afternoon,
Aug. 19, 2003, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
She was born Aug. 29, 1906, in Beardstown, the daughter of George Charles and
Elizabeth Schweer McComas. She married Carl E. Jolly on Feb. 21, 1926, in
Beardstown, and he survives in Beardstown.
She is
also survived by one daughter, Carnell (husband, Willard) Korsmeyer of
Beardstown; one son, Ret. Col. Donald L. (wife, Edith) of Alma, Ark.; seven
grandchildren, Dr. Stanely (wife, Susan) Korsmeyer, Lynn (husband, Michael)
Hollahan, Janet Korsmeyer, Karen (husband, Joe) Randolla, Sandra (husband,
Ernest) Kalnasy, Laura (husband, the Rev. Randy) Rowlan, and Cynthia (husband,
David) Yungclas; and 21 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six
brothers, Herbert, Charles, Edwin, Harry, Virgil and Henry; and two sisters,
Mable and Anna.
Mrs. Jolly attended school in
Beardstown and was a lifelong member of the Ladies' Aid. She worked prior to her
marriage and during World War II for Illinois Bell Telephone. An avid reader and
member of several bridge clubs, she was a homemaker and truly enjoyed caring for
her family.
Funeral services will be held 10:30
a.m. Saturday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown, with burial at
Beardstown City Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Sager
Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to Cass County Visiting
Nurses, First Evangelical Church in Beardstown, or Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice.

Alfred N. Jones - 1928-2003 - Beardstown
Alfred
N. Jones, 74, of rural Beardstown, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born Nov. 12, 1928,
in Beardstown, the son of Lewis V. and Laura Marie Shouse Jones.
He married
Lois L. Atkinson April 14, 1951, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church
parsonage in Beardstown, and she survives.
He is also
survived by three daughters, Marilyn (husband, Dale) Fox of Virginia, Carolyn
(husband, James) Deppe of Ashland, and Beth
Blair of Virginia; one son John
(wife, Lee Anne) Jones of Denver; eight grandchildren, Michael (wife, Amy) Fox,
Amanda (husband, Chris)
Lear, Sara (husband, Corey) McGlasson, Shawn and
Sylvia Lynn, Nicole Deppe, Wendy (husband, Steve) Bridgewater, Angie (husband,
Tim)
Butler, and Seth Blair; two step-grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed (wife, Mary)
of Morton; one sister, Patsy Collison of Beardstown; and several nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Hank.
Mr. Jones attended Beardstown High School. He was employed as a deckhand on a
riverboat prior to entering the U.S. Army, serving in
World War II
(1946-1949) in the Infantry Division in Korea and Japan and then later during
the Korean conflict (1952-1953) as a Master
Sergeant in Korea. Following his
military service he was employed with Jones Brothers Construction Co. in
Beardstown and later with Operating Engineers Local 965 in Springfield where he
was employed as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the First
Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Beardstown and was a lifetime member of the
Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 in Beardstown. He was an avid reader and
enjoyed
woodworking, especially creating projects for his family.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sager Funeral Home in
Beardstown with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery where
military honors will
be presented by Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 in Beardstown. Friends may call
after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home,
with family meeting friends from 5-7
p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Virginia Library or Cass County Hospice.

Glenna M. Jones - 1926-2003 - Beardstown
Glenna M. Jones, 76, of Beardstown, died
Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2003, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
She was born April 27, 1926, in Beardstown, the
daughter of Glen M. Swearingen and Myrtle J. Swan Swearingen Trotter.
She is survived by one son, Kim P. (wife, Tari
A.) Jones of Springfield; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her stepfather Clarence "Lightning" Trotter,; and one
son, Joseph L. (surviving wife, Gloria Jones of Beardstown); and one daughter,
Leslie A. Jones.
Mrs. Jones graduated
from Beardstown High School in the class of 1944. She was a member of St. Alexis
Catholic Church and the Alter and Rosary Society within the church. She had
previously served as an election judge in Beardstown. She had been employed with
Illinois Bell Telephone Co. in Beardstown and Springfield for 35 years until her
retirement. She loved to fish and cook. She will be remembered for the many
delicious pies she baked.
Memorial
services for cremated remains will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Sager Funeral Home
in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet
with friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service Saturday at the
funeral home. Memorials have been suggested to the St. John's Hospice in
