Bluff Springs; was born in Nassau, Germany, Sept. 13, 1822; son of Gustave and Margaret (Endris) Arnoldi. Gustave Arnoldi, who was an Inspector of Forests, died in Germany, in 1834; his wife also died in Germany, in 1872; they had seven children. Our subject attended school for seven years in Germany, where he began life as a farmer, which occupation he has pursued since he came to this country. In this county, March 7, 1850, he married Amelia Winhold, a native of Germany, born April 13, 1833, daughter of William and Barbara Winhold; from this marriage six children have been born: Bertha, Ferdinand (deceased), Gustave, Jennie, Ella, and an infant (deceased).
